Romans 12:2
THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD
TRIUMPHANT NATION PERAZIM CATHEDRAL TCC OUTLINE 9/7/2026 *TOPIC* : THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD TO OPEN : Romans 12:2 (NIV) “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” *TO MEMORIZE FOR THE MONTH:* "You have put him in charge of everything you made; everything is put under his authority: .” ( Psa 8:6 ) *TO READ* : Imagine someone standing at the gate of Dangote’s house saying, “Open the gate, I know him.” The security men may ask, “Does he know you?” That is the difference between information and relationship. Many people know God like that. They know Bible stories. They know church language. They know when to say “Amen.” But knowing about God is not the same as knowing God. The Bible shows us levels of knowledge. Oida is mental awareness. You know God exists. You know prayer is important. But it can remain only in the head. Gnosis is informational knowledge. You learn scripture, doctrine, and spiritual truths. This is good, because Hosea 4:6 says people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. But 1 Corinthians 8:1 warns that knowledge without love can produce pride. Ginosko is relational and experiential knowledge. This is when you do not just hear that God provides; you see Him provide. You do not just hear that God comforts; you experience His peace. Epignosis is fuller and mature knowledge. God’s truth begins to shape your choices, desires, and character. Dokimazo means to test and prove. Romans 12:2 says we can test and approve God’s will. You forgive and prove His peace. You obey and prove His wisdom. You step out in faith and prove His grace. Then knowledge becomes wisdom; sophia in Greek and chokmah in Hebrew. This is when what you know about God becomes how you live. God does not want us to stop at information. He wants us to move from knowing about Him to knowing Him personally, proving His will, and living wisely. *TO LEARN* : The goal is to see that the knowledge of God must grow. It should move from the head to the heart, from information to relationship, from relationship to obedience, and from obedience to wisdom. True knowledge of God is not proven only by what we can quote, but by how much our lives are being transformed by what we know. *TO DISCUSS* : 1. Discuss the clear difference between just memorizing Bible facts and actually having a close, personal relationship with God. 2. Share a specific time when going through a difficult season taught you something about God's character that a Sunday sermon couldn't teach you. 3. What does it actually look like to test God's promises in real life? 4. Discuss how you prove His word works when making a major career or family decision. *TO DO* : Pick one specific promise of God from the scriptures this week. Take a practical step to test it in your life and apply the wisdom you gather from that experience. *TO PRAY* : 1. Lord, help me move past simple mental facts into deep relational intimacy with You. 2. Give me the grace to know You experientially through every season of my life. 3. Give me the courage to step out and prove Your word through my actions. 4. Fill me with the wisdom to apply Your truth to my everyday decisions. 5. Father we ask for souls in all our catchment areas and we receive grace to retain them in the church in the name of Jesus. *TO READ FURTHER* : Hosea 6:3 Philippians 3:10 Romans 12:2 Proverbs 1:7 *TO CONFESS* : I AM TRIUMPHANT!
